Methane Exposure Check
Find out what your sites look like from orbit.
Anyone can look at your sites in open satellite data. We do it first, and tell you what we find: a short written check, free, and we take two a month.
How it works
- You name the sites. One to three: a mine, a field, a landfill. Their names and roughly where they are is enough
- We look at the open archive over the last two years: TROPOMI for the larger plumes, Sentinel-2 for point sources, wind rotated where it helps
- You get a short written check: what is visible, what is not, what the limits mean for those sites, and what we would look at next
Worth saying plainly
It is free and there is no obligation. If nothing is visible above the detection limits, the check says exactly that, which is itself worth knowing. Dan does each one himself, so we take two a month; if this month's are taken we will tell you when the next opens.
What it is not
It is not a compliance measurement and it does not replace your NGER reporting. Satellites miss what sits under the detection limits, and cloud takes days out of every quarter. The check says where those gaps are for your sites. Continuous capture and quarterly reporting is the subscription. How the methane work works
